Creator programme terms

Joining

It is free to join and free to stay in. There is no minimum audience and no exclusivity: you can work with any other platform you like. You join with a Joy TKT account, and we may turn down an application.

Your link and your code

• Your link is any Joy TKT page with your code on the end, like ?p=YOURCODE&c=luxor_post. Whatever you put after c= is yours to name, so you can see which of your posts earns.
• A reader who follows your link is remembered on their browser for 90 days. If they follow another creator's link after yours, the later link counts.
• If they open a Joy TKT account in that time, the account remembers you, and their later bookings are yours as well — unless they come back through another creator's link or code.
• A creator's code typed at checkout counts before any link: the booking belongs to whoever owns the code.
• Links work in the Joy TKT app as well as on the website.
• Readers you send get your code's offer rather than Joy TKT's own welcome offer for new members. The two never apply to the same booking.

What you earn

• 10% of what the traveller actually paid. That is the price after any discount code and after any Joy credit or points they used. A gift card counts as paid.
• 15% past 30 bookings a month. Your bookings are counted month by month, Cairo time, in the order they are paid. The first 30 of a month earn 10%. From booking #31 onward, a booking earns 15%, provided the 30 before it that month have all taken place by the time its own trip does. The count starts again on the 1st of every month.
• The rate is set on the day the trip takes place and is not changed afterwards.
• Your share is never more than what Joy TKT itself earns on the booking, after any discount we paid for. On most bookings that makes no difference.
• If we have agreed a rate with you personally, that rate applies instead, and your dashboard shows it.

When it is yours

• A booking shows on your dashboard as pending as soon as it is paid, and becomes earned the day after its trip takes place. A booking cancelled before then earns nothing.
• If a traveller is refunded part of the price, your share shrinks in the same proportion. Refunded in full, it is cancelled.
• If you had already been paid for a booking that is later refunded, the refunded part comes off your next payment. Your Earnings page shows it as an adjustment, with the reason.

Payment

• On the 1st of every month we prepare a payment for every creator owed $50.00 or more, and send it in the days that follow.
• Under $50.00, what you have earned waits for the next month. You can see it the whole time, and it is never lost.
• Amounts are counted in US dollars and sent the way you choose in your settings: bank transfer, PayPal or Wise. Nothing can be sent until those details are filled in.
• Each payment has a reference that you will see on your Earnings page, and we email you when it has gone, unless you have switched those emails off.
• If we find we owe you more, or less, than the ledger says, we add an adjustment with the reason and settle it in the next payment.

Codes for your readers

• You can have up to 3 codes running at a time, made from the kinds of code Joy TKT offers in your portal.
• A code is 4 to 15 letters and digits. Words that belong to Joy TKT, and words the site uses itself, are reserved.
• Each traveller account can use a code once, and a booking takes one code: codes do not add up.
• Joy TKT pays for the discount. Your share is worked out on what the traveller paid after it.
• We can switch a code off, for example if it turns up somewhere these terms do not allow.

What is not allowed

• Your own bookings. A booking for yourself — on your own account, with your own email, or from the connection you sign in from — earns nothing. It is held for review by our Trust & Safety team, and payments to you may be paused while they look.
• Bidding on our name. Do not buy search ads on Joy TKT, joytkt or anything close to them, and do not pass yourself off as Joy TKT: no look-alike pages, accounts or ads.
• Coupon and cashback sites. Do not post your code or your link on coupon, voucher-code or cashback sites unless we have agreed it with you in writing.
• Misleading anyone. Do not promise prices, dates or tours that are not on Joy TKT, and do not send people by spam, pop-ups, hidden links, or anything that sets your link without a real click.

Commission that comes from breaking these rules is cancelled. If it had already been paid, it comes off the next payment.

Saying it is an affiliate link

Say plainly, near the link, that you earn from bookings made through it. It is the law in most of the places our readers live, and readers mind far less than people think.

Leaving, and being asked to leave

You can leave whenever you like: tell us from your creator portal. We can pause or end a creator's place in the programme, and we will tell you why. What you earned on trips that have already taken place is still paid under these terms, unless it came from breaking them.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page says when they last changed. The rate a booking earns is the one in these terms on the day its trip takes place.
