Booking terms
The agreement between you, the operator running your experience, and Joy TKT when you book on this site.
These booking terms are the agreement between you (the traveller making a booking), the independent local operator who runs the tour, activity or transfer you book, and Joy TKT LLC, the company that operates this marketplace. They apply every time you book on Joy TKT, wherever in the world you or the operator are based. By ticking the box at checkout, you accept these terms for everyone in your party.
1. Who these terms are between
Joy TKT is operated by Joy TKT LLC, a company registered in the Arab Republic of Egypt under company number 52107, with its registered address at Sheraton Street, Hurghada, Red Sea Governorate, Egypt ("Joy TKT", "we", "us", "our").
The tour, transfer or activity itself is run by an independent local operator — the company named on your voucher (the "operator"). We show the operator's name on the experience page, and its name and on-the-day contact number on your voucher, so you know who you are booking with.
2. What Joy TKT does, and what the operator does
Joy TKT lists experiences on behalf of operators, takes your booking, takes your payment, issues your voucher, and gives you a way to message the operator and reach our support team. We act as agent for the operator in arranging your booking. The contract for the experience itself — the tour, activity or transfer you take — is between you and the operator, not between you and Joy TKT.
Each operator is responsible for holding any licence, permit or authorisation that its own country requires it to hold in order to run the experience, and for running that experience safely and as described.
3. Not a package holiday
The experiences on Joy TKT are single travel services — a tour, an activity, or a transfer — booked individually. Joy TKT does not combine these into a package holiday. Booking through this site does not create a "package" under the EU Package Travel Directive (EU) 2015/2302, the UK Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, or equivalent law elsewhere, and the protections that attach to a package (including an organiser's insolvency protection) do not apply to your booking.
If you book more than one experience through Joy TKT for the same trip, each booking is a separate contract with its own operator. Booking them together, or one after another, does not turn them into a package.
4. Booking and payment
- When you choose a date and a party, we hold your places for about twenty minutes so you can pay. Places are only yours once the payment has gone through.
- Your booking is confirmed when we have the payment and you have a voucher with a booking reference and a QR code. Nothing before that is a confirmed booking.
- Card payments are handled by our payment provider. We never see or keep your full card number.
- The price you see is the price you pay: it includes everything listed under "What's included". Anything the operator charges on the day — an optional extra, a national park fee we have told you about — is shown on the experience page before you book.
- You may be shown prices in your own currency. The amount your bank takes is the amount shown at the moment you pay; your own bank may add its own charge for a foreign payment.
- If a price or a description is obviously wrong, we may cancel the booking and refund you in full rather than hold you to it.
5. Prices and tax
Prices shown to you on Joy TKT include all taxes that apply to the price you pay.
The operator supplies the experience and is responsible for accounting for any VAT or other tax due on it, and for issuing you any invoice you need. Joy TKT arranges your booking as the operator's agent and charges the operator a commission for doing so; this commission is not shown separately to you.
6. Your part of the bargain
- Give us a phone number the driver or guide can actually reach on the day, and the hotel or address you want to be picked up from. Most missed pickups are wrong numbers and wrong hotels.
- Be ready at the time on your voucher, or at the pickup time the operator sends you. Drivers cannot wait long with a full vehicle.
- Tell us at the time of booking about anything that affects safety or suitability — pregnancy, heart or back conditions, reduced mobility, non-swimmers on a boat trip, allergies. Some experiences have minimum ages or health limits, and these are on the experience page.
- Bring photo identification. Some sites, boats and border crossings require it, and some experiences are priced differently for residents.
- Follow the operator's safety instructions. The operator may refuse to carry anyone who is unfit to travel, under the influence, or behaving in a way that puts others at risk, and no refund is due in that case.
7. Children and party details
Ages decide the price and sometimes whether a child may come at all. Book each traveller in the right age band; if the party that turns up is not the party that was booked, the operator may charge the difference on the day or refuse the extra travellers.
8. Changes, cancellations and refunds
Every experience shows its own cancellation terms before you book, and they are repeated on your voucher. Our cancellation and refund policy explains what happens when you cancel, when the operator cancels, and when the weather does.
9. Your right to cancel this contract
Consumers booking at a distance in the European Union and the United Kingdom normally have 14 days to withdraw from a contract without giving a reason. That right does not apply to a contract for a leisure service — such as a tour, an activity or a transfer — that is to be supplied on a specific date or during a specific period, under Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU and the equivalent provision in the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Because every experience booked through Joy TKT is for a specific date, or a specific pickup slot, this exemption applies to your booking. Instead of the 14-day withdrawal right, the cancellation terms shown for the experience, and set out in our cancellation and refund policy, govern your right to cancel and receive a refund.
10. If something goes wrong on the day
Contact the operator first, through the message thread on your booking page or the emergency number on your voucher — they are the only ones who can send a driver back or fix a problem on the ground. If you cannot reach them, write to us at [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp at +44 7871 581960, and we will step in. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
11. Complaints and time limits
Tell us within 28 days of the trip if something went wrong, so we can put it right while the operator still has the records. We aim to respond within 30 days of your complaint.
If you are not satisfied with our response and you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may have the right to refer the dispute to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body recognised in your country of residence. Joy TKT is not a member of an ADR scheme at present; our final response to your complaint will say whether we agree to take part in one.
If you ask your bank or card issuer to reverse a payment (a chargeback) without first contacting us, and the booking was properly carried out in line with these terms, we may dispute the chargeback and may recover the amount charged back from you.
12. Our liability
We are responsible for operating this site properly, for taking your payment correctly, for passing your booking accurately to the operator, for issuing your voucher, and for helping when something goes wrong with the booking itself. We are not responsible for how the operator plans, runs or delivers the experience — that is the operator's responsibility as the supplier of the service, including its own liability to you under the law that applies to it.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that the law that applies to your booking does not allow us to exclude or limit.
Subject to the previous paragraph, our liability to you arising from your use of Joy TKT or any booking made through it is limited to the total price you paid for that booking.
13. Events beyond anyone's control
Neither we nor the operator is responsible for a failure or delay in performing an obligation under these terms caused by an event beyond reasonable control — including extreme weather, natural disaster, war, terrorism, civil unrest, epidemic, strike, or government action. Where an experience cannot go ahead for this reason, our cancellation and refund policy explains what happens next.
14. Travel insurance
Joy TKT does not hold insurance covering the experiences booked through the site. Each operator is responsible for insuring the experience it runs. We strongly recommend that you take out your own travel insurance covering cancellation, medical treatment, and any adventurous activity you have booked.
15. Your account, points and credit
You can book as a guest or with a Joy TKT account. An account keeps your bookings in one place and collects Joy Points. Points and Joy credit belong to the account they were earned on, cannot be sold or transferred, and expire as described on your Joy Wallet page. We may withhold points or credit gained through obvious abuse.
16. Reviews and content
After you travel we may invite you to review the experience. Reviews are your own words and are published beside the listing; the operator may reply but cannot remove them. Do not post anything untrue, abusive, or that identifies other travellers. By posting a review you let us show it on Joy TKT and in our marketing.
17. Intellectual property
The Joy TKT name, logo, site design and content we create belong to us or our licensors. Photos, descriptions and other content supplied by an operator belong to that operator or its licensors. You may not copy, scrape or reuse this content, except for your own personal use in booking and taking your trip.
18. Data protection and how you find operators
What we do with your personal data is set out in our privacy notice. For each experience, we show the operator's trading name, and we give you its contact details with your booking, so you know who you are dealing with, in line with online marketplace transparency requirements including the EU Digital Services Act.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on this page when you booked; we keep the date at the top up to date.
20. Governing law and courts
These terms, and any booking made through Joy TKT, are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Hurghada have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If you are a consumer habitually resident in another country, this clause does not deprive you of the protection given to you by any mandatory provisions of the law of that country which cannot be excluded by agreement, and it does not remove any right you have to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence where the law of that country gives you that right.
